Melody Portnoy is an actor, singer, and self proclaimed Beatles enthusiast. Growing up, she spent more nights sleeping in a tour bus bunk than an actual bed! Being raised by two musicians means growing up on the road and gaining a love for music as well as performing at a very young age. Melody took private vocal lessons and competed in vocal competitions since the age of 7.
After high school, Melody discovered her love for musical theatre. She packed up her life in the small town of Coopersburg, PA and moved to NYC to attend the New York Film Academy for Musical Theatre and Film/TV Acting (PCMT 2018 graduate). During her time at NYFA, Melody performed as Annabella in their MainStage production of NINE (Directed by Travis Greisler, Choreographed by Deidre Goodwin), Young Jane in Express: A New Musical, and Lucy in the original movie musical Kaya: A Taste of Paradise.
Since graduating, Melody has made her 54 Below debut, Off- Broadway debut at the Triad Theatre, recorded the original demos of Psykidz by Bobby Cronin as Magnolia, and participated in numerous readings of developmental new musicals. She has also performed as her dream role in her dream show: Crissy in Hair! Other NYC Theatre credits include: Hope Cladwell in Urinetown The Musical, Olive Ostrovsky in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Katherine Plumber in Disney's Newsies, Catherine in Pippin, Hermia in A Midsummer Nights Dream, and many others! Her latest upcoming role in a musical will be Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd (coming in feb. 2026)
She is also trained in on screen acting. She has modeled and acted in an international Shopify campaign as well as various leads in different upcoming indie feature films. She also stars as a recurring supporting role named Casey on a popular youtube children's series called The Ellie Sparkles Show with 2 Million subscribers.
